Oh what an eggciting time now that Pilav central is open 7 days a week!We just love Pilav central so much we must share this for everyone to try. They are located at the heritage plaza on Macleod trail.Do you like egg salad sandwiches, if you do, then you must try these Piroshki filled with Egg and Spring Onions, it’s better than an egg salad sandwich x 100Piroshki and other traditional Russian fried filled breads have a ton of variations. This version is a straightforward vegetarian option. The combination of hard boiled egg and fresh bright herbs is delicious inside the fluffy and crispy exterior. We called while we were on the way there to pre order the Piroshki’s and so they made them fresh for us.They also have one of the best pilav in all of Calgary. This dish is a hearty traditional Uzbek dish. It's made with long grain rice, tender beef chunks, onions, and carrots.And for dessert they have an in house made fresh Napoleon cake which is sooooo soft and creamy.We also got a couple other items that got devoured before the camera could eat like the Vinaigrette salad and beef Samsa.

I'm a regular client since they opened. I tasted everything that they prepared. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Pilav, cheburek and cabbage rolls are good. You can ask them to warm up the pilav more, because they prepare it early in the morning. Basically, it's one of my favorite places. And today there was a special charcoal BBQ event. Very delicious marinated beef and cheese grilled at perfection.

Was in the area for work and wanted to try something different for lunch and I am glad I found this place. An assortment of tasty Soviet style dishes and treats available. The pilav was a great lunch, along with the compote beverage, and the cakes. The owners were friendly and great to deal with. Very happy I was able to try a different cuisine that is hard to find.

Amazing, authentic Uzbeki cuisine. I tried the cabbage rolls, as well as another item I cannot pronounce. The food was very tasty, and the service was exceptional. When you first walk in, you are greeted by the lady at the front wearing a professional black chefs outfit. You can see through the kitchen that the chef is also wearing a similar outfit. I knew exactly what I wanted when I went in there and ended up coming out with two items instead. She showed me many items on the menu for future reference and explained what they were. It’s just a really cool change of pace to pop in there to try something Both authentic and different.

I've discovered this gem just recently. The first time we bought all kinds of pirozhki, chebureki and the Olivier salad. My entire family enjoyed every single bite of everything. Kids loved it! Once I dug into their delicious pirozhki, that taste whisked me away right to my childhood memories. All the food gone in one day. Today I popped in to continue exploring their cuisine. I had a pleasure to meet the owner. We spoke about his food, the ingredients and business in general. I saw the passion, attention and care he invested in the quality of his craft, as well as the emotional impact of unfair judgement upon his work. Yes, I am looking at you - those 1-star reviewers" who slap the lowest rating only because "back in my village my grandma used to do the REAL authentic pilav

The best buns(pirozhki) you could find, Khachapuri is awesome! Wish to try the fresh fried Cheburek, can buy prepared but would appreciate the opportunity order the fresh cooked. Honey Cake is yummy yummy!

This is such an incredible place to get some really authentic food. My wife and I thought we found some good places downtown but this place is worth the drive. We had the cabbage rolls, khachapuri, pirozkhi, pilaf and the honey cake. Our only problem when we come back is if we are going to get the same things or try the rest of his menu, because it was all so good. I definitely recommend the khachapuri as well as the honey cake!

Very good East European and Central Asian dish’s at a fair price. With Alberta’s significant Ukrainian minority such a place is long overdue.We especially enjoyed the Kyiv Cutlet and the Uzbek Pilav. The cabbage rolls and perogies we ordered were also amazing.Service was above and beyond.
